Many thanks to our repeat clients for their unders Many thanks to our repeat clients for their understanding when we needed to reschedule work during storm clean up last week! There were a good amount of lazy trees out there who just refused to stand up on their own.

Eliza worked off this failing fir, at a local daycare, that was hung up in a nearby aspen with the help of our tracked lift and two support lines. Safety first! ☝️🤠🌲

Congratulations to Mike Planes on passing and rece Congratulations to Mike Planes on passing and receiving his ISA Certified Arborist exam! 👏🥳🌲 Mike has a deep well of experience and knowledge when it comes to tree care from almost a decade in the industry. This certification is a feather in what is a big hat, as Mike is already an expert in large tree removal and pruning. It's been a treat watching him push his skills in fine pruning, and since joining Grow has become an immaculate tree worker, mentor, and a crucial member of our team. Here's to you Mike!

Did you know the team at Grow has over 60 years of Did you know the team at Grow has over 60 years of collective experience? 👀

📸 These guys have been at it so long that I'm pretty sure some of these are photos of prints. A LOT has changed since then. 😁

1: Aaron teaching climber training in 2006
2: Aaron, on the tools in Vancouver, early 2000s
3: a baby face Geoff, on the right, early in his career in the UK in the early 2000s
4: Geoff on his tree work travels that took him to South Africa and Borneo

Read and Mike both have +/-10 years as well and we've got an awesome group of other climbers and groundspeople at various stages from brand new to a couple years in the trees.

You'll find that collectively they've all done a lot, seen a lot and learned a lot.

With 60+ years experience and 15 years in business in the Comox Valley, Grow Tree Care is ready to share that wealth of knowledge and experience with you when you invite us onto your property.

We've got a bittersweet announcement to make. Th We've got a bittersweet announcement to make.

The bitter 💊: After an extended leave, Aaron Salt has made the decision not to return to Grow Tree Care.

The sweet🍬: we look back in gratitude for the decade ‼️ he spent as part of the Grow team and wish him all the success in the world for his next adventures.

Salty is an arborist with an extremely varied background and education, from climbing and pruning and hedges and planting to plant health care, soil remediation, development consulting and arborist reports. One of the original Aarons, he's a rare Welshman with 25+ years arboriculture experience, ranging from the wilds of London, UK, to the backyards of Vancouver Island.

He's full of grit and heart and a welcoming smile for teammates on even the rainiest days. Grow won't be quite the same without him.

Good luck Salty. We'll miss you!

If you had the pleasure of working with Aaron or having him on your property, drop a comment below to let him know the impact he made in our local arboriculture community.
Emergency procedures training with our tracked lif Emergency procedures training with our tracked lift last week! You don't know until you know, and putting oneself into a rescue scenario can bring up questions you didn't think you had. Thanks to Aaron for running through routine maintenance and troubleshooting, Read for ground operation & emergency takedowns, and Geoff for bucket egress procedure. And hats off to Mike for being the guinea pig to demonstrate what it's really like to hang from a full body harness! 🥲🤪🏋‍♂️

#throwbackthursday Here's a few pictures of Aaron #throwbackthursday Here's a few pictures of Aaron and myself (Read) in 2018, inspecting and performing an endweight reduction of a Douglas Fir that contained an eagle's nest!

This tree sits on the highway between Willow Point and Campbell River, and while the motel below was under renovations they wanted to assess the health of the tree while ensuring safety for future parked cars nearby.

The work was overseen by a biologist and the legendary Verna Mumby of Mumby's Arboricultural Consulting. This was an experience I never forgot (Aaron climbing over the overhang of the nest to find us a tie-in point!) and it makes me happy that we contributed in a small way to the fact that this tree is still standing today.
